I equate art with beauty and integrity. These intangibles are hard to define, because they are deeply personal. We know it when we see it. We can feel it. Connect with it in a way that words alone can’t convey. My aspiration, of course, is to incorporate these elements into my photography. To create images that reveal not just what’s in front of the lens, but something inside of us as well.

Sometimes these moments quietly hold our attention, like the simple grace and fleeting perfection of a dancer balanced on point. Other times they invite us on a journey, sharing the effortless flight of an egret trailed by a rhythmic dance of water droplets on the lake’s surface.

To me, photography, like life, is about what happens in the moment. Over the years, I’ve learned that not every image turns out exactly as I see it in my mind, but that’s okay. The elusive nature of an exceptional photograph gives me something to strive for, and I’m grateful for that.
